Live Music Production
New to the Stockprophotos.com web site are these selections from two Live Music programs currently being produced in Denver. Both shows are mixed live to tape, no multitrack recording. I get one chance to get the mix right.
The City and County of Denver has its own TV station, Denver 8. Late in 2013, Denver 8 launched a music program of its own, The Denver Loft Sessions. Recorded live in the TV-8 studio at the City and County building in what was once the Juvenile Court.
These Denver Loft Sessions samples, will start with a nice Reggae/Ska band called Na’an Stop.
Look at the playlist and you will find a variety of Colorado acts playing many musical styles.
My favorites include, SuCh, Bonnie and the Beard, John Common, Magic Beans and Birch Street.
THIS JUST IN! The Denver Loft Session has won an award for Best Audio/Sound Recording from NATOA, the Government Programming Awards. Our session with the Indulgers was the winning entry. The Denver Loft Sessions also won for Best Lighting.
Sounds on 29th is a production of CPT12, Colorado Public Television. CPT12 has a long history of music programming. In fact, the station can make a viable claim to having invented the Music Video show. Teletunes was in production for nearly a year before MTV went on air. Sounds on 29th continues that tradition by spotlighting fine Colorado bands.
The first sample is the Best of 2013 episode which features a nice sample of the acts we captured that year.
Next up, a great horn band, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. I love mixing a band with a good horn section.
How about a little Jazz? Swing Je T’aime evokes Django Rheinhart’s great 1930s band from Paris. Here are two pieces from their performance.
